Terms of Use

This is an English translation of the Swedish terms of use. If the two versions differ, the Swedish version applies.

1. Parties

This agreement is made between you as a user and Fredrik Carlsson, sole trader (enskild firma), Sweden (“Sæga”, “we”). By downloading, installing or using Sæga you accept these terms.

2. What you get

Sæga is a macOS application for dictation to text. It comes in two versions:

• Free: everything that runs on your Mac, with no cap: dictation, speech models, dictionary, text shortcuts, voice actions, history with export and auto-mode. In addition, one custom mode and 40 AI texts a month (cleanup, translation and custom modes together).
• Pro: everything in Free + custom modes for every app, 1,000 AI texts a month, the Email, AI Prompt and Rewrite modes and session summaries + every update to version 1. The cloud features are included for as long as version 1 is supported, and at least one year from purchase (see section 7). One-time purchase of 29 USD, no subscription. Licences bought before 12 October 2026 keep AI texts with no cap.

If you use your own Anthropic key, the AI texts are sent directly to Anthropic, and you pay Anthropic for them yourself.

3. Licence

Sæga is proprietary software. Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use Sæga on up to the number of Macs stated for your tier (Pro: 3; Free has no licence key and no limit). The licence key may not be shared, resold or published openly.

4. Acceptable use

You may not:

• Use Sæga to record other people unlawfully
• Try to circumvent the licence system, hack the API proxy or abuse our resources
• Send content to AI modes that violates Anthropic’s Acceptable Use Policy
• Redistribute, resell or decompile Sæga without written permission

5. Payment and delivery

Payment for Pro is handled by Lemon Squeezy (Sold through Link, LLC, formerly Lemon Squeezy LLC, USA). Sæga receives your email address and licence key from Lemon Squeezy. Delivery takes place right after the purchase, by email with the licence key and a receipt.

The price of 29 USD excludes VAT. Lemon Squeezy handles VAT according to destination (25 % Swedish VAT for EU consumers, US sales tax for American customers, etc.).

6. Refunds and right of withdrawal

We offer a 30-day refund with no questions asked. EU consumers also have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Swedish Distance Contracts Act, but our 30-day promise applies to everyone. See /refund (in Swedish).

7. Updates and cloud features

Sæga can check for and install updates automatically (a standard mechanism for macOS apps). Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and gives every update to version 1. There is no annual fee and no renewal to keep track of.

The Pro features that go through the cloud (custom modes for every app, 1,000 AI texts a month, the Email, AI Prompt and Rewrite modes and session summaries) are provided for as long as version 1 is supported, and at least one year from your purchase. The promise also covers custom modes: both creating new ones and using the ones you have. What runs on your Mac does not depend on our servers and keeps working in the version you have installed. Licences bought before 12 October 2026 keep AI texts with no cap.

Should a version 2 ever come, it will be a separate purchase, and you choose yourself whether to upgrade. We will tell you in good time, and your version 1 will not stop working because of it.

8. Third-party services

AI modes (Cleanup, Email, AI Prompt, Translate) and custom modes use Anthropic Claude. Sæga is not responsible for the availability of Anthropic’s service. If Anthropic’s service is down, Raw mode works regardless.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Sæga is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app is free from errors, that transcription will always be correct, or that the service will always be available. You use the app at your own risk: always check critical text before you pass it on.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Sæga is never liable for indirect damage, lost data, lost income or consequential damage. Our total liability is limited to what you have paid for the app in the last 12 months.

Consumer protection rules under Swedish and EU law are not limited by this clause.

11. Termination

You can stop using Sæga at any time: uninstall the app and delete the licence key. We may deactivate a licence key if you seriously breach these terms (for example by spreading the key). In that case the purchase is refunded if less than 30 days have passed.

12. Changes to the terms

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced through an app update or by email (if you have Pro). If you continue to use Sæga after a change, that counts as acceptance.

13. Governing law and disputes

Swedish law applies. Disputes are settled in Swedish general courts with the Gothenburg District Court as the first instance. As a consumer you can also turn to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN).
